Sony has announced that Playstation 4 will be available on 15th November (in the US) and 29th November (in the EU).
Also, during it’s Gamesom presentation, Sony announced that Gran Turismo 6 will launch on 6th December. England’s Brands Hatch circuit joins the track roster of the PS3 racing title.
Microsoft has not yet revealed a release date for Xbox One, but Forza 5 developer, Turn 10, has announced that Spa Francorchamps will join the track roster of the Xbox One launch title.
According to Computer and Video Games, Sony will reveal “release plans” for the PS4 at next week’s Gamescom event in Germany.
With both Sony and Microsoft both hosting media briefing events at Gamescom, on 20th August, it seems likely that it won’t be long until we have a much better idea as to when we will be able to get our hands on the next generation of video gaming hardware.
What’s more, C&VG also reports that some retailers are advertising PS4 availability from 13th November, putting it smack-bang in the middle of Xbox One’s stated release window of “November 2013” (although Sony has stated that this date is speculative and the window of “Holiday 2013” still stands).
Does this mean that both Sony and Microsoft’s consoles could arrive at the same time? The possibility is definitely there, as neither Sony or Microsoft will want the other to have the advantage of launching first.
Sunday Racers blog will have news from the Sony and Microsoft press conferences from Gamescom.
After months of indecision and stalling, it’s finally time to start the ball rolling with my Sunday Racers blog.
Sunday Racers will bring you news regarding upcoming console racing games, such as Forza 5 and Gran Turismo 6. I will also post news regarding the upcoming Xbox One and PS4 consoles.
Sunday Racers blog will also be a source of information regarding my Sunday Racers racing events, which are currently being run using Forza 4.
If all of that isn’t enough, I will post photos and race reports from real world motorsport events that I attend, such as British GT and World Endurance Championship races.
I also hope to be able to post original articles produced by friends who may be racing game fans, motorsport fans, or both!
I want to make Sunday Racers blog something worth reading for both racing game and real motorsport fans alike.
John Patterson, Sunday Racers.
